David Bain
David was raised on a farm inland, as well as having the opportunity to experience growing up in a small coastal town on the South Coast of NSW. With a strong focus on living in a sustainable manner on the farm as well as spending the majority of time in the outdoors, a deep interest and respect in the environment around him and a love of outdoor activities was developed.
He attended Wollongong University where he studied biology and geography to further his understanding of the environment. Following some overseas travel to indulge in outdoor pursuits, David returned to Australia and began further study in the form of a PhD on threatened species conservation on the South Coast of NSW. During this time David worked at local zoo's and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service as an education officer, rainforest guide, technical officer and ranger. Following this David joined private industry and worked as a consultant for a number of years.
David now brings his broad range of skills relating to the environment, his love of the world around him and his outdoor pursuits together at Total Eco Adventures. With a passion for environmental sustainability and environmental awareness, David hopes to inspire people to get involved in exciting activities in the outdoors and in the process learn about the natural world we live in, the importance of it to our health and how we can act to protect our precious local environments.
