Frequently Asked Questions:
Do we have to book ahead?
Most definitely. Bookings are essential, to make sure we are open on your chosen day and we can reserve a SUP board for you. During peak periods such as school holidays and long weekends, we recommend calling the day before so you don’t miss out.
What ages do you cater for?
This paddle board adventure is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness aged 10 years and above. For safety reasons, children younger than 10 cannot ride their own board; however they may ride tandem with an adult provided they wear a life-vest.
What equipment is supplied?
Stand Up Paddle boards and adjustable paddles to suit your body size. Life-vests are also available for those with limited swimming ability. Wetsuits by special request during colder months.
Is this a guided tour?
This is not a guided tour. The river is safe and easy to navigate so no need to pay extra for a guide. The equipment hire period is 2 hours including a lesson, which represents great value for money.
What is the best time of day?
SUP is most enjoyable when the wind is light. Our lessons are scheduled in the morning to take advantage of the calm conditions before the sea breeze. We can paddle board after midday by special request if the conditions are favourable.
Where do we meet?
We are based at the Tomakin Boat Ramp, at the end of Kingston Place in the coastal village of Tomakin. This popular boating venue has plenty of parking and an amenities block with picnic tables nearby. Look out for the Total Eco Adventures trailer.
Where can we stand up paddle?
The designated hire area is between Mossy Point to the east and Jeremadra to the west. We do not allow our SUP boards outside of this zone except by prior arrangement – takeaway hires must be approved in advance.
